College Council


The College council of Sanjo College is formed and appointed to direct the academic affairs of the College and it is the consultative body established to advise on various proposals regarding academic programmes and on college performance. Sanjo College Council shall consist of the Principal,Vice Principal, Bursar, Heads of the Department of each Subject of study, IQAC Coordinator, NSS Programme officer and Librarian.

The Principal shall be the ex-officio President of the Council. The council shall appoint one of the members as the Secretary and the member so appointed shall hold office for one year, but shall be eligible for re-election.

The general administration of the college shall vest in the Principal subject to the control of the Director of Collegiate Education. The Principal may distribute some of the general administrative work of the College among the members of Council to be done under the general supervision of the Principal itself, viz. Library, Athletics, Maintenance of Building and the ground etc.

The Council is empowered to consider and report any question concerning accommodation, course of instruction, or rules of discipline referred to it by the Principal. However, it shall not interface in any manner with the general administration of the college which is vested in the Principal acting under the orders of the Director of Collegiate Education.

All questions of promotion, term certificates and scholarships shall ordinarily be consulted in the Council and decided by the Principal taking the Councilinto consideration.

All cases of serious misconduct on the part of students involving loss of their term certificates or their removal or expulsion from the College shall be dealt with by the Principal, ordinarily in consultation with the College Council and with the concerned incharges.

Meeting of the Council shall be convened at such time as the Principal may consider necessary. He shall also convene a meeting when required to do so by the Director of Collegiate Education or on the written requisition of not less than two third of the members.

Not less than three day’s notice of a meeting shall ordinarily be given to each member. The notice ordinarily be accompanied by the agenda.

It shall be the duty of the Secretary to give notice of the meeting of the Council, to keep a record of the proceedings of such meeting and to forward to the Director of Collegiate Education through the Principal a copy of the proceedings of each meeting. The Principal or in his absence, the Vice Principal shall take the Chair at all meetings of the Council.

Not less than a majority of the members shall form the quorum and all questions shall be decided by a majority of the votes of members present. If the votes including the vote of the chairman are equally divided, the Chairman shall have a casting vote. The Principal may overrule the decision of the College Council, but in such case he shall make a report to the Director of Collegiate Education setting forth the reason for doing so.

The chairman shall be the sole judge of any point of order. The chairman may call any member to order and shall have power to take any action as may be necessary to enforce his decision. The Budget shall be framed by the Principal in consultation with the bursar, members of the Council and forward to the education agency and then to the Director of Collegiate Education, if necessary.

Notwithstanding anything contained in the foregoing rules it shall be competent to the Principal to dispose of any matter which should ordinarily be disposed of by the Council.

1) The College Council is a statutory body to advise and to assist the Principal in all academic and administrative matters. It is the apex body that takes all the policy decisions regarding the College. The decision of the Council is implemented through different agencies formed by the Council from time to time.

8) The administration of the college is vested with the Principal subject to the general direction and control of the SCET members and the College Management Committee.

9) Not less than majority of the members shall form the quorum and all questions shall be decided by a majority of the votes of members present. If the votes including the vote of the chairman are equally divided, the Chairman shall have a casting vote. Office Staff


Students’ Council


The students’ council is the constitutional representative body of the student community at the college level which is formed as per the guidelines of The Mahatma Gandhi University Act 1985 under section (29) for the purpose to serve the students’ at the college level. It plays crucial role to keep the college environment healthy and well-functioning. It is a representative structure from the students, which takes part in the working of the college with guidance from the management, staff and parents. The main role of a Student Council is to plan, organize and conduct the various activities of the college in align with the vision and mission of the college.

Due to students’ participation, it is easy for the college administration to conduct various programs like cultural, recreational, sports, awareness and education and also to provide society commitment services through NSS and NCC (applied). It is nice platform for the students to present their views, ideas and interacts. An implicit view behind the constitution of students’ council is to improve the quality of higher education.

IQAC organizes various seminars, conferences, and workshop and value added programs for the members to make them aware on the current inventions and what is going on all around the world. Students organizes important activities like Tree plantation, Blood donation, Women conscious awareness programs, Career development, Swachata Campaign, Cultural and Awareness program at adopted village through UBA, Welcome and farewell function of the students, NGO visits at different places, etc.
