The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is intended to create wide awareness among the academic community and general public regarding AIDS and HIV infection. Activities of the club are controlled by Kerala State Aids Control Society.
At Sanjo College, the RRC is functioning independently in general and under the aegis of NSS in particular cases and events. Establishing RRC at Sanjo serves the students and general public in various capacities, such as educating youth and other members of the society on sexualtiy and HIV/AIDS, development of life skills for the members to deal with the cases, and instilling a spirit of compassion towards people who are affected with HIV/AIDS in the society. The ultimate aim of forming RRC is to extend a helping hand towards the affected people. RRC takes up varied service activities in this lebel.
It also takes up other activities of promoting voluntary non-remunerated blood donation among youth and motivating youth to build their capacity as educators.
Some of the recurrent programmes are:
- HIV-AIDS Awareness Classes, Lectures, Webinars and Seminars.
- HIV-AIDS Awareness rally, streat play and staging of plays and dramas.
- Blood testing Camp, Blood denotation Camp.
- Medical and Health Checking Camp.
- Poster Competition, Speech competitions, etc.
