Eligibility



The Department of Social Work at Sanjo College (SCMAS) was started with a Bachelor Programme in 2020. The department aspires to become a centre of excellence in developing social work professionals for promoting justice and empowerment. With a judicious mix of theory and practice, the department has geared itself to be strong in teaching, research and learning.

This course aims:

  • To facilitate the learners to develop professional knowledge, attitude and values required to function as effective social workers.
  • To enable the learners for scientific assessment, planning and intervention towards bringing about change in the social functioning of human beings in their respective field of practice.
  • To help the learners to develop their professional self through integral transformative practices.

Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is a three-year undergraduate degree that offers knowledge and skills to aspirants to prepare them to become competent professionals in the field of social work. The course has 6 semesters in total. The course enables aspirants to become social catalysts who will enable people in need to stand up for themselves and hence create social change.

ELIGIBILITY

The minimum qualification for Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) course is a pass in +2 or Higher Secondary Examination from a recognized board or university.

Students with a background in sociology, psychology, social work, social science or any other related field will get preference over others.

Program Structure


The duration of BSW program is three academic years with six semesters. Total number of courses for the whole BSW program is 30 Which including Field Education in each semester and Research Project. The course includes:
